The Midwest Caries I.D.™ Detection Handpiece gives Dr. Craig a specialized tool that can detect tooth decay very early in its formation. In diagnosing tooth decay early, you can experience better health and faster, more comfortable treatment, and can even stop cavities before they form.
An intraoral camera lets you see inside your mouth during both treatment planning and dental procedures. Our intraoral camera displays your teeth on a video screen, allowing Dr. Craig to walk you through your proposed treatment. The use of this camera allows us to work with you as a team to meet your dental care goals. We are happy to answer any questions you may have and discuss your treatment options with you. We want you to picture how your appearance will improve with dental care, giving you all the more reason to smile.
Digital photography gives Dr. Craig instant images to use for cosmetic imaging or to keep on file to track your progress. Digital images can be saved electronically and are more efficient than traditional photographs that show less detail and must be taken off-site for development.
Dr. Craig and our hygienist always screen you for any signs of oral cancer at your regular checkups, but some symptoms of oral cancer can be invisible to the naked eye. The FDA has recently approved a device to detect oral cancer called a VELscope. The VELscope is non-invasive and uses a bright blue light to emphasize any changes in the mouth that a dentist or hygienist could not normally see.
